sean 371
I'm not looking to compete any time real soon, and I actually like the sound of a somewhat underpowered sub. I believe my amp is benched between 1400 and 1500 watts, and I was considering power a 12" BTL off of it. How well would that work? Or do you need quite a bit more power to get it going? I want to get a BTL over a BL because if I decide to upgrade amps, I'd have that extra room without having to switch out for a new sub. sean 371
Seeing as it's underpowered already, I wasn't going to. But I might get the cooling and some of the others so that I can throw 3k watts at it later on. I'm going to be driving a civic, so a single sub setup is probably in my future. How is the SQ on the BTL's? I really want to get something with real nice response, not sloppy at all. I plan on putting it in a 2 cu ft net, ported at 35 hz, aimed forward/sealed off from the trunk. The ports will effectively be external ports. chad
i like the sound of mine. it gets low and clean. its hard to believe the btl is considered a spl sub when it sounds so good. just don't get the third magnet if you are going to underpower it. Low n Loud
dude i had my old skool RFT10001bd hooked up to the 18" BTL and it slamed so hard it was freakin unbelievable. the amp was puttin out jus about about 1300rms.
civichatch
ya man 1 sub in these small civics is enough. Not alot of room, but the small cabin helps wit the loudness. My 2 18's take over 2000 a piece every day without even blinking and all I have is the X-max and 3rd magnet. The Quality of sound is really good too, rap through jazz through oldies up to metal all sound pretty incredible. sean 371
Yea which is why I want to run a single sub setup. And a BTL is about as good as I could get without paying over 600 bucks.
