ttviper Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 im wondering what is better for bass, a car or suv or it they can be the same. me personally i thank a suv would louder if both car and suv had the same equipment, there is somthing about having the subs inside the car that make me think that. i would like to know what you guys think. also what is the best setup of subs for the loudest bass in a car. what i mean by setup is the arrangment of the subs. for example subs facing back, front, up, down, sideway or at each other. and what i mean by a car is a car with the subs in the trunk not a hatchback. hopefully someone that has tryed or knows this first hand will chime in thanks

Yer ass better go sit along the side of the road and wait. You can't expect them to travel up some dirt road in a hick / back woods town. Thats how horror movies start I explain things very simply and use analogies in terms of Pickles, and grape drink, pool noodles and jackhammers...if you can't put 2 and 2 together there man, There simply is not much more I can do.

"in a trunk car you do this..." ive seen 2 10"s in a trunk car get as loud as 2 18"s in an suv. tons of variables go into this. Because a Tahoe is not the same as an Excursion (size). And with cars you can get pleanty loud if your seats fold down or if you have a hatchback. It was almost as loud as the blazer with half the drivers and half the power. I did how ever remove the back arm rest wall to allow a "port" into the trunk as the leather really blocked the bass and it was a Buick with lots of deadener. Both setups were ported. The blazer was louder but everybody was really surprised at how loud it was compared to the same 4 subs in the truck. If the regal wasnt a winter beater i would have installed all 4 just to see. I think its all on the install and quality of work. I know the blazers get LOUD easily but something about that fold down arm rest in my old regal really mad the car loud too. Over all i think Small SUV's are better for systems. Unless money isn't an issue than go with a full size SUV. lower tuning is just hard. All of them can have loud setups(SUV or cars) just have to find out what works in your vehicle, with sub/port placement, different types of enclosures, etc. Then just find out by meter(if u have it) or just by ear what works in your specific vehicle. Also 99% of the time someone has done a setup in whatever vehicle you have and will have sum insight to give u a starting point. Viper it would be alot easier if u just mentioned what specific models u were trying to compare or if it was just a general question.. A general question like this is sooo very vague that there is no correct answer either way. Btw welcome to the forum 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer... New setup, old ride...
