V Belt to 6 groove Serpentine pulley conversion?

Recommended Posts

I have an 86 GMC Sierra, and it had the old v belt setup on it and i cant be havin that for a H.O alternator. so i need to change it over to a 6 groove serpentine type setup, really all i need is to change the pulleys over to 6 groove pulleys, then just buy a short 6 groove pulley and tighten it with the alt. just like stock.

so anybody know of any kits like this? that include a water pump pulley, a power steering pump pulley, an alternator pulley (so i can still run the stocker until i buy a new alt.), and a crank pulley.

price is a big issue so the cheaper the better, ive done some searching but cant seem to find anything that includes everything i need.

Not exactly. With V belts, all of the belts are aligned differently. So wat you need to do is get all of the brackets need to do a v belt to serpentine. Go to a local wreaking yard and get the brackets from an engine that is the same as yours and is a serpentine system. then you can get the pulleys that are on the stuff at the same time. Probably the cheapest way possible

its a 4th order just because its tuned in the 40z doesnt mean it wont reach down and jiggle your balls at sub 30 hz frequencies.

Regardless if they were dipped platinum and were stuffed in Beyonce's twat.....way too fucking exspensive

ehh, i was afraid of having to do that.

does anyone make a crank pulley for a SBC that has a 6 groove spot and a v belt spot?

yeah, but i dont want to spend a ton of money on some $500+ serpentine kit, i just want pulleys to go in place of what i have now and run everything. they have kits with everything but the power steering pump pulley, but i guess that wouldnt work without some kind of shimming or something to get it all aligned right.
