AI James
The One I have off the CD, the lowest note is 16Hz, and I generally dont like to play it full tilt. was just guessing off the top of my head but i still feel the same about the topic lol
The A Team
it can play it but its generally not great for the sub to be played below tuning like that i believe that note on hood run down is like 19hz, in a 40hz box i would learn what the subs gonna do at what volume before i just slammed on something that far below tuning So you would tune a entire system around one part of a song that plays 16 hz? I know this isnt what you mean but you dont often listen to music under 30 hz, and if you do you need to use some discretion while doing so. Ray good info there. For me personally i dont rely/trust programs or specs. It may sound odd to guys who live by them but for me they dont hold much value. I test the results, the response, the ability to play with X amount of power in real life conditions. Dont forget the role your vehicle plays in loading the speaker, as well how it performs as a whole. All i rely on is my tests and experience doing it and what i think sounds good or loud. Ray
Ray good info there. For me personally i dont rely/trust programs or specs. Thats not from looking at some program, I have so much data it's not even funny. If you ever want someone else's input on box design feel free to call me. I have a shit ton of info, but it's also how I make a living so to just spend all day posting my knowledge on enclosure design doesnt make sense to me. but from 1 guy to another i'd be glad to chat with you. Ray
But to the OP, these are all daily set-ups tuned to 34hz burp freq is 42hz except for the dd's they love 33-34hz I have had 2 type r 12's on 1500rms in my burban it did a 42.8 2.25 each with 35sq per then ran a exile big15 4cuft after with 50sq in it did a 43.9 same amp/power And my favorite 4 dd 1508's 4cuft after with 70sqin on same amp 1500rms does a 44.7 all day long and at 9hz lower Honestly I have had about 15 different sub configs in this 1 car on the same power. I would go for a lv4xl if that was my only choice If I had a choice I would use a DD9515 with carbon cone and cap Quote 2008 California state record holder 157.2 Bassrace2009 California state record holder 157.0 BassraceRollin 50's 158.7db2009 King of Cali Bassrace2009 USACi score 160.5 @ 42hz
