Red-navi-916 Posted November 30, 2009 Author Report Posted November 30, 2009 how hard was that alt. to put in i have a 2001 expedition with the 5.4 .and i am put two aq hdc3 18s. where did u ground at in the back and your navi was the same color as mines now. what size is that box it look like it is not made for a navi. question 1: to take the stock one on u will see 2 bolts(left and right) under the alt then on top you will see 3 screws holding the alt take those out because you wont be needing it....then when you put the new alt in it wont have the top screw holes but when you bolt it in on the bottom 2 sides it will hold just as good... question 2:in the back i have it grounded to the frame but soon it will be grounded to the chassis,, if you lift your carpet in the back you will see little caps like plugs pull them out and widen the hole a little bit and it should go straight to the bottom and you can ground to chassis..i have my power wire running under the car..soon i should have the ground too... question 3:yeah my navi was that stock red....and this box was built for a 1995 ford explorer..but its a huge box from where the fender pops up in to the truck to the other side when the box is centered its only about 1-2 inches from the sides and about a foot from the hatch.. considering i do have the batteries behind the box and the amp BUILDLOG http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=61862 "98crewcab"Never a POS....just always "a work in progress" lol that's how we roll bitches!!!
