  1. 1. Should I run 6 18's or 8 18's in the Suburban? Why?

He is not joking man. I west to close to a $1,000 worth of stuff I "forgot" about in my build.

Honestly man I think your getting way over your head for your first big build. I am not staying dont do it. Just if you do, take your time, and do it right! Your talking about running a system that if some thing goes wrong it can go very very wrong.

Saw a kid that built a wall for 4 15" with bolts in it to hold it down, got into a 15mph crash, bolts came through the sheet metal and all most killed him. Simple things like that, or a wire not being fused and catching fire......

Gotcha thanks for the advice, but as I said earlier, I am planning on taking my time to get this done. I guess you can say I am walking quicker than the other babies. I have done builds before, just not on this scale so I feel where you are coming from. I may be soon hired at Lowe's so DISCOUNT time and I worked at Lowe's before and they have some discounts for mediocre stuff. But thanks again for the advice. It will be well taken.

Hopefully 3 of my subs will be in this week depending on Fi and btlcavalier. lol But all 5 should be in next week I am sorry it is taking so long guys. Dam Fi company moving up. lol

So many more people voted than I expected so I will base my decision off of the winner. Best out of 100. But it looks like 8 18" subs will win lol.

Dude have you ever ordered from or called Fi Car Audio? They can recone it back to the triple stacked version. Trust me I actually have spoke to scott. But this is getting off topic if you really want to know something PM me, because you are stirring up trouble.

you cant recone a motor back to a triple stack

maybe they can change the soft parts so it comes close to the old specs

That is what I was saying my bad. But I talked to them about it a week and a half ago, and that is exactly what they said. They will switch off the soft parts. lol

Dude this is what i was telling you...and you go "you dont know anything...blah blah blah..." You have all kinds of different btls, with different motors and options...theyre all going to be moving differently and just not work properly.

IMO you wouldve been better off taking your time to find 4 of the SAME model btl and run them...instead of cramming abuncha random subs in the back of your truck.

I thought you said just yesterday there would be no more threads like this until your build was started, or words to that effect? I swear you posted that somewhere.

1. Talk is cheap

2. All those box designs... how to put it... ...suck - I reckon even if you do it you are way, way, way out of your depth. If you're playing with 6-8 18's you don't need to ask the internet for a box design.
