Thewes
I've recently been trying to learn the most I can about high end driver production. How do you find suppliers? Are most basket/surround/cone/etc suppliers overseas? Are most motors locally manufactured near the buildhouses location? I have so many questions and most people who I talk to are just too busy to explain anything. Anyone who wants to teach me a couple things I would appreciate that. I would, but they are very busy people, and I'm not too sure they would be interested in giving out their suppliers names to someone who isn't established in the industry at all. HHR Ed
I dont wanna sound mean, but alot of what your asking is secret trade stuff that people dont wanna share and shouldnt share. I can tell you that some companies manufacture almost all of their parts in house, and other use suppliers for the raw materials. I don't think what I am asking is too specific, not like I am asking what type of technology certain drivers use, just how you find suppliers, where parts are made, etc. What companies do you know that oem their parts in house? I don't know of one company that makes their own cones, coils, surrounds, spiders, etc in house.

Thewes
Audison does.Focal did for awhile also. Your sure they did? Seems like a waste of money when you can just outsource for the same quality and probably a fraction of the money to have all the equipment to wrap coils, mold surrounds, machine baskets, and all the other intricate things.
