Basshead08
Your charging voltage seems low for having a high output alt. Correct me if Im wrong but shouldnt most cars charge around 14.4 or 14.5. Did you go to a larger alt pulley when you changed alts? If the voltage is computer regulated by the vehicle then it won't let it charge higher without a mla or a vcm or something similar. Its an electrical component. all electrical components should grounded. MECHMAN
please explain why you wouldnt ground your alt. Its an electrical component. all electrical components should grounded. For best performance a 1/0 ground cable should be run from the housing of the alternator directly to the negative terminal of the battery Quote 1-888-MECHMAN www.Mechman.com [email protected]

yota_oddball
Alright here we go after checking voltage with the DMM. At start up I am getting 14.1 to 14.2 volts. once heated up it rest at about 13.89. I used the same song and just replayed to get results. Throw it up by lil jon The first results are with high beams and ac all the way up. Battery:13.8 when ac compressor turns on it drops to 13.4 then quickly gets back to 13.8 Alt: Same as above Amp: Same also but seemed to drop to 13.3 some times. Results with volume a little under 3/4 the way. Battery: rest at 13.89 drops to 13.1 to 13.2 Alt: same as above Amp:13.89 drops to 13.0 to 13.2 Results with volume at a little above 3/4 volume. Battery:13.89 drops to 12.5 to 12.7 Alt: Same as above Amp: same also!! Full tilt=instant protection mode on the amp and voltage near 12.0 Edited December 17, 2009 by yota_oddball Quote 04 Armada. I never do. I only did it for the test. I got dimming with half volume and on some songs lower. Quote 04 Armada. Lifted 35" Toyo MTs.
