thorshammer
My only worry with seeing 1k or so on a lvl 5 is the clipping issue. I have no doubt that in the attempt to really get em moving most folks will push the amp beyond its comfortable limits. This is how horror stories of lvl 5's blowing with 1500 to it start. Having said that. It is enough to get nice and loud if you tune the amps properly and dont over drive them. If you want to go big then get new amps. Do not run the amps you have now on a lv5, and i can tell you from a recent test on about 2000 watts the XL is 0.9 dB louder then a lv5. So with 1000 watts you will actually be louder with a lv4 over a lv5 by alot. But i say buy the lv5s and pick up a monster amp, or amps. This be because the sensitivity rating on the 4xl is that much higher than the 5? I dont see the sensitivity listed on the 5 tho. I take it this was a 15" or 18" swap? I take it this was a 15" or 18" swap? this was a 12" swap. that has something to do with yes obviously on little power the sub more designed for it will win. Lv5 isnt the most efficient sub out there, it likes power very much.
