My low end might be very very slightly effected, it could also be that I am just used to getting ear raped by bass. FiBTLforlife Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 how the hell do they test it that specifically thre is a hearing app on the ipod touch that is pretty detailed. i had better hearing than my future wife and she always says im deaff. well now i pick on her all the time. i have some mild hearing loss but cant remember what hz thinking on top of my head 2 AQ 10'' HDC3 copper subs 1 3500d AQ amp 146.3db on TL with stock electrical in single cab truck at 32hz RESULT: 1st place at comp, 3rd overall out of 20 cars

My mids and highs have always been "sufficient" compared to my subs (at best). Now, they are out of this world - but now i can easily get my ears ringing and have established a new "normal" level (on the deck 35 out of 62) not to go past for very long. This is X2 on heavy metal - i too find that rap music with heavy bass doesnt hurt my ears nearly as much as rock does for the same amount of time. i want to get tested just to see but as far as i know im good.....i hear things that other people in my house ignore because they didnt hear it (someone at the door, my phone ringing in the garage while im 3 bedrooms away, the cat meowing outside etc). If i have any damage, its from loud music in general and not really from 156+db of bass that i am usually exposed to. BUT lets not be stupid here, it does depend how long you do it for. If you do a lot of driving, like for a living (ie a trucker) even the sound of the wind past your LEFT ear for years on end will take its toll. Like my man said a few posts up, if it hurts, get out.
