mr.p Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 Well today i found out real quick why i keep blowin up dc 4 channels...i blew the one up and thought it was because i was running crossovers with different impedance speakers than oem....But in fact itis most likely because the DC 4 channels are mounted on my side pannels, which really flex if the vehicle is sealed up around 30hz.... i was burping tones with 1 3k at .3x ohms, and all was good until i burped the 30hz...and smoked both my 4 channels. blew a shit ton of the power supply fets, upon examination the boards have some room to "flex" in the middle which i could see as being a problem. anyways, it looks like i will be running a rockford T800.4 for the midrange and the Tens in the doors, and will pickup a 400.4 for the tweeters. or a similar arrangement. i will also be completely rewiring everything in the jeep for the 4 channels and RCA's...then when i get batteries i am going to build a rack and start in on rewiring them. Once the 12k soundigital arrives i should be ready i also plan on doing ALOT of fiberglass work...someday, materials are pretty costly. DCAUDIO BALLS DEEP

mr.p Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 AND just for reference, it was correct that i clamped around 1400W out of the pair of saz3500. so 154 bassrace with 2800W clamped.... today with one DC 3000.1 wired at .3 whatever, we got 1400W with approximately 6x rise it rose up to 1.7ohms total... so i know that near my bassrace frequency i should be able to run the SD at .3 for a 30 second run. if the amplifier can handle the extreme and sudden unpause into full tilt in the lanes at 1.3 it should rise to 8 ohms and i should see 5-6000W which is about double what was clamped with 3500's.
