Personally, I believe 185 dB is the loudest we can possibly go with today's loudspeaker technology. Or am I kinda lost in translation lol It cant, I loudspeaker cannot create a shockwave. Only an explosive force such as TNT. So anything over 194 has to be an explosive force. Physically speaking 194 dB is the limit for reproduced sound. But in my knowledge of current technology and know how, I believe 185 dB is the limit that a loudspeaker will be able to do. To go past 185 I believe we need to radically change the way a loudspeaker works so that it can displace even more volume with enough force to push past the increased pressure at those high SPL ranges. Does that not somewhat compare to what mythbuster did with their larger driveshaft driven subwoofer be? If it did 160 under 20hz could that not some how be used to have a higher frequency and higher decibel? Yup, if Mythbusters built it better it could have had better potential. Look at Richard Clark's MTX Bomb Bread truck that did 170 dB at 11hz back in 1996. (btw T3 had a hand in building that) Using powerful motors like those examples could supply the necessary force. The other trick is to build a capable suspension system to allow the cone to move far enough, while remaining air tight, and while remaining in control. I started to build a motor driven woofer but ran outta money.
