Battery for 3000 watts rms

Recommended Posts

If the battery can cover the load then Ah becomes important. If Ah was not important the use of deep cycle batteries wouldn't be needed.

you do realize scotti own xspower, right?

this is why its great to have a high idle output alternator... so u can recharge those batts asap for those bursts

Capacity is finite and a battery can not charge as fast as it discharges, the bigger the load the greater the discharge. The deeper the continual discharge the more worn the battery.

Seems to be contradictory. The bigger the burst the bigger the drain on a finite power source.

"It's easy to get into a thermal runaway situation... if battery capacity is low, as you re-charge the battery will get hot... combine this with high engine temps, and the temp can get away from you quickly... the hotter it gets, the more pliable the plastic becomes. If you're not careful you will have a couple of grey and white balloons on your hands "
