Not to sound like an ass, but have you never see what old POS batt's looks like? Well if so, times that by 3, and the link above a few posts up, shows what the alt is. It is huge, and about 200amps like I posted earlier. You cant fit these on your ride, unless u really want to do some serious mods, and then again, really no need for you to want this alt. You can have MUCH higher amp alt, for a HELL OF A LOT LESS MONEY. Im sure this leece naville style alt is about 1k or slightly less, and they weigh a TON. I never really thought of looking at the wiring of the apparatus when im up at the fire house. any chance u can snap some wiring pics of some engines/squads? like generator setups and such. I could look at fire equipment all day, but now I appreciate more of the work thats put into them by the designesrs.
