Austin175 Posted January 8, 2010 Author Report Posted January 8, 2010 alright man thankx well ill prolly do the resin after we get the bottom an sides glued up an then glue the port an do that an then do the top but how many cans of resin do u think i will need if my box is 18.75" tall with a double baffle on top 36" wide an 30" long kia spectra 4 door HU-a kenwood kdc-692x optima red top under the hood ( kinetik battery or powermaster in the back ) Iraggi 260amp H/O alternator 1 set of knu kandy 1/0 guage wiring kit ( 2 more sets coming ) front speakers - back speakers - 2 12" lv 4's with lvl 5 softparts ( going to be 4 in near future) Sundown 3500d( going to be 2 sometime ) i have boughten from - Bass14(smd), ddbump(caraudioclassifieds)

Torres Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 well i just went ahead an got 2 bottles of the gurilla glue bc we didnt have the titebond but if my box is 18" tall an with the dubble baffle it makes it 18.75" tall u think those 2" wood screws would be good to use those will be fine to go through the double baffle. as long as you dont screw em down too far and strip the wood. just tight enough to hold the wood since when the glue dries, that's what will really be holding em in place. also...predrilling WILL be your best friend. or else you'll end up with lots of split wood. the longer the screw, the longer the predrill or the more likely you are to split wood. a little countersink will be nice for the heads of the screws to sit flush on the box too

Torres Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 take about a 1/8" drill bit and drill into where you're going to screw into. then to counter sink you can either 1...use a bigger drill bit and drill a little into the wood (being careful not to press too hard or the drill bit will eat into the wood VERY fast and go too deep) or 2...get a special bit made for counter sinking. i've done both methods. i ended up finding a counter sinking bit in my garage, and one came in a kit i bought with a ton of different bits. they're safer, but one was dull/cheap as shit and took forever to counter sink lol

Gotloud555 Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 im getting 2 sheets of 3/4 mdf wood, 1 to 4 cans of liquid resin, paint brushes, dowel rods, a sander an sand paper, a dremel, i got the table saw an all that at a friends house idk what else i need to get so if u kno lemme kno You would need more than that, depending on the box you're building. I did get pencil and ruler. You might want to get a counterbit too.
