If you do, then good jobmy car peaks at 45hz no matter what freq my box is tuned at.. a wall would shrink the cabin space which will change the resonant frequency up liquid nails has always sucked for me, titebond ftw proper bracing locations can help alot too

The smaller the cab. The higher the resonant frequency. Proper bracing throughout the box will also raise db's. And I've never heard of titebond. I'm goin to have to check into that. At the comp today my bracing for the port started breaking. I had used liquid nail to support them. Oh well. This box I have now is just a pos... Boon Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 Proper bracing throughout the box will also raise db's. No it won't. Internal turbulence, dodgy loading of the cone = less dB. If your SPL box is flexing enough that it needs bracing then you built it wrong. 10.x volts fo' life!

Not to be that guy but my car peaked exactly 9 hz off of tuning freq. To rephrase... it will never happen with a competition-orientated box. 10.x volts fo' life!

Ben Building Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 You should build a test box for one sub. Figure out how much space you have and make your test box half of that. Use a round port, start with a low tuning and go up from there until you reach a reasonable compromise on tuning and SPL. One sheet of wood seems like a good investment if you are going to be walling your car off.
