So I'm going to build a box entirely out of Plexiglas soon, how thick should each panel be for each side? Its going to be a pyramidal box because I have a single cab truck, and ill have 4 12" subs, 2 6x9 subs, and my amp all on the face of the box. Thanks your all you input

lose the 6x9"s, do NOT put them in the same box with the subs. ive seen some one do this box and i think it was still .75" maybe .5" but it was only for 1 woofer. i would do 1" all around for the 4 12"s maybe even thicker, all depends on the power your running. its going to be VERY expencive.

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.

i remember bobby had a nice sealed truck box in his old f150 truck. it was 3/4" think iirc and the subs were mounted from the inside of the box they were 3 w6 12's and that shit sounded super good for a truck box. however i dont see you being able to put 4 in there and having enough room for your nuts to not hug the steering wheel. i would do 3 max and mount them from the inside. if you cant get plexi. gately audio has a section on this site i believe and does super nice work. its not cheap, but you get what you pay for. thats my input.

i think he's talking about making a seperate box on top of the sub box which WOULD work. but 4 12's i doubt fitting in the first place. maybe 4 10's but not 4 12's.

its going to sound like shyt. is it for show? i was going to do the same thing and frost it with leds inside but decided i dont have a show vehicle so why comprimise with shyt sound? i would just do a window into the box and make it atleast 3/4" thick

Plexi is very flexible so for good rigidity .75" is the thinnest I would suggest and use bracing.

If possible you can also layer a few sheets together for better strength.

BTW, just because its plex doesnt mean it will sound like shyt. As long as its rigid and designed properly then it can sound really good.

and that could be the fault that i saw first hand maybe it was a poor design. a very expensive mistake. my vote is to have a very experienced plexi person/shop design and build it for you it could save you money in the long run.
