Ben Building
Hey TJ. So, you have port questions? Well, you have started on the right track by making your port square. If you can put 45s in the corner of your port to cancel the corners, that would help as well as resin inside the port. BTW Somebody needs to sticky the topic of Port Shapes because too many people ask this question!!
Decaf
Okay so ive looked some info up and found Kicker suggests 4.5 cubs per woofer so ran the dimensions for my blazer and i got thisHeight - 16" Width - 37" Length - 32" Gives a total of 9.09 Cuft Now im trying to get the perfect port for it and tuning for it too I've done a little port for just fun and it is Height - 8" Width - 8" Length - 12" tunned to 33.11hz i was looking for a port thats in the middle of the box like meade but if Aero ports would do better Explain them i dont under stand those lol im going for Loud but dosnt sound bad. So its a Sq/SPL lol Any helpers? - TeejayBee i would do more port, ~100sqin, so make the port 10*10 tuned to 33-34hz, kickers sweet spot personally i do no like square ports in the middle, its just not as efficient as it could be, and when u do slot port u get lower tuning for free since it uses an enclosure wall as a port wall, so the port wont need to be as long Edited January 26, 2010 by Decaf

Try to make it bigger. just my 2 cts. Quote black BMW X1 2.0 l 192 hp OEM head unit, Amplifiers : Audison AP 8.9 amp with integrated DSP and Ampere Audio 1200. Marlo Stanfield
I'd suggest like 9ft3 @ 34hz w/ 80-95in2 of port area using either a pair of 10" aeros or 8" aeros... I've tested them time and time again to be anywhere from a few tenths to 1db+ louder than slot/square ports. Quote 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer... New setup, old ride...
