i have a kicker comp 8 in a off axis tline / quarter wave. well, it used to be in my truck, some of you may have seen that vid, well i had it laying infront of my couch and i was thinking "damn this is almost as loud as my truck" but oh shit, i put it in my downstairs hall, and the little fucker just started raisin hell! im putting 150 watts to it at 4 ohms btw. i put on decafs juice box, and i swear i could have broken a window with the beat from this little fucker, and ive heard a little beat in my time, i have heard 2 btl 18"s on 4500 rms in a suburban, i thought that was loud, well it was comparable to this. is this normal? cause it was seriously on quake mode. are houses supposed to be louder than cars? it just blows me away that this little sub was doin all this shaking.

sounded easily like 2 12"s or a 15". im just blown away lol...

yeah a room or hallway can have alot of gain by the way its shaped so yeah anything can be loud honestly...but it could also be in your head too.

if u got a older comp 8 can i get the dementions for that tline cause i got one of the old kicker comp 8's

but if its a new one i would still like to have the design

but in reality i think it was louder cause the sound had farther to travel n build up pressure than it would have in a car or truck

did u have it faceing up or twards a wall or somethin?

if u want to see some wicked shit, take it and put it at an angle at the corner of the wall at the bottom n space it out with something so the sub dont touch n see what it sounds like

when i had my 2 mtx8000 15's in my bedroom ran from a 250w klh plate amp in a sealed box kinda rigged up like a downfire and it wanged like hell, was even vibrateing the front door n its on the other side of the house so i take it a house could be louder for the most part but i unno

i know its not all in my head, every time i hear a stereo i hear the imperfections, i have a pretty well trained ear asfar as beat, i just looked behind me and one of out paintings is on the floor. i mean it was LOUD but the hallway is drywall and cement so im not suprised it sounded loud. i will get vids when i can borrow my grandmothers camera, hd1080p ftw >.>

i could just design u one, just give me ur material thickness (cheap ass 19/32 osb worked fine for me) but if u want to use mdf or whatevs just give me material thickness, and i had it at the end of the hall with the sub facing up and port facing me, it was in the hall, but facing me.

and do u want low tuning (32-34hz)or high tuning(40-42hz)?

I had 2 12" PYle's, under a bed, sealed tower speakerbox (ol school), that banged like sex on the opposite corner of a small room. These were like $20 subs from Apex in 1999. My point is, with the right space, ANY sub can get to Houseshaking!

Subs tend 2 sound MUCH louder in a house than in a car 4 sum reason....

I hav (4) 6" polk audio's in a slot ported(no 90* angles) in my room & dey rattle the frames in the hallway like crazy!
