I have/had the same Alpine deck as you man. I put a Scope on the RCA outputs to find out the deck clips at Volume 29. Safe volume is max28. I have had other Alpine decks that had the same max safe volume.

everyone says it clips around 23.. but my shit doesnt get loud AT ALL when i do it there, even with gain at FULL all the way, bass boost AND subw volume on the HU... even right now i have to have my gain all the way up and subw volume all the way up to get anything out of them... i didnt have this problem with my old kenwood, only with this... did you do that test with the internal amp on.. or off?

Internel amp on and off same thing. The scope started to clip at vol 29. We used pink noise to test. best thing I did was used the scope. So at Vol 28 I then went to the amp speaker terminals and turned them up till the amp cliped then back them off a little.

Problem with that deck if your not usinga line driver or anothing to boost the voltage you only pushin out 2volts out them preouts.

Ya the only reason I crank it up is cause I get nothing for bass through the sub out..hopefully when I get my clarion EQ it will do better so I can have 28 as my max.. It has 3.5 volt preouts
