I have always been wondering if bass can shake the brain, and affect brain function...

I'm reminded by it today, as I put dynamat on the back of my taillights. Now when I listen to it @ my normal listening volume, my BRAIN feels pressurized and I just go into a trance... And once it's off it's like I need to turn the bass back on or it feels like I have a headache. There's no rattling anymore, it's clean bass, and it's painful to be in my car... It seriously sounds at least 1.5 times louder since there's no rattling competing with loudness.

I normally listen @ (1000wRMS @ volume #23 on alpine headunit, flat eq other than -1 treble)

I can't help but wonder, does anyone with 2k, 3k, 4k, and up, feel any effects on their brain long term? Or am I just being paranoid?

anything over 150 db hurts me ive sat in 158 db before i wouldnt dare to sit in anything over a 160 the shop i go to the owner had a 167 db festiva and he said that he sat in it when it burped and he had blood coming out of his nose lol so yeah it can cause brain damage depending on how many db it is but if i had to say 155+db would cause it after prolonged time anything less is just cause ur not use to it yet

Not usually but I could be desensitized due to heavy machinery operation/repair.

I'm sure the brain is affected by bass. Whether it does anything harmful or not I dont think we have to worry about or we'd all be dead by now ;)

MickyMcD - "Capable of making some serious trouser flapping volumes at where's-my-testicles frequencies, the Servo-Drives used to be fairly jaw dropping..."

Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through.

I only seem to get headaches from my system if it's playin really loud! Today it felt extra loud after the dynamat. I appreciate the concern though I wouldn't mind lookin into that as a possibility.

Bass doesn't bother very often but a car that has harsh highs will give me a severe migraine after a little while of listening.
