rubbernutz1 Posted February 22, 2010 Author Report Share Posted February 22, 2010 im goign to use 0 gauge for the alt to bat lead. im using 2 alts and running 1 to the front battery and the 2nd to the rear batteries. whet my question is, is what size fuse fuse to use in the line going to the rear batteries. both atls are 140 amp for now. If a wire has a max draw of 300 amps. use a 300 amp fuse. It won't hurt to use a lesser fuse though. most 1/0 gauge wire has a 300 amp rating CCA has a rating of 250 if my memory is right. I got that, but if the alt is only making 140amps, how will that wire ever see 300? Im still learnin all this electrical stuff. Someone may see it differently than I do though. I'd put a 300 in it or not bother doing 1/0 guage.
