Forevrbumpn
I think it was Nismo that said his dad, or friends semi tranny went out and paid $3500, and compared that to Steves tranny which is a Auto 4 spd tranny. Automatics are always more expensive to rebuild than manuals, they are harder, more springs, and valves. I watched a buddy mess with a TH350 and I was like, Dayum..... then you see a manual tranny gear box, and presure plate assembly then you can kinda get an idea of the complications Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy. meade916
well the 3geez was the dealer but i went to Aamco and i got the price down from "$2200 - $2600" to $2000 but with less of a warranty. The only reason they came down was because i got a real cheap ($1450) quote from a different shop. They SWEAR there is no way that shop will do what they are going to do for that price so either they are tell in the truth or im a sucker. Either way i think AAMCO is reputable so thats all i care about. the good thing is all these posts from you guys make sense and are helpful.....the "sunshell", the dirty screen, the grey fluid, all that stuff you guys mentioned so 2 grand it is........so far. str86diesel
Damn bro...wtf. I leave town for a couple of days and crap always goes wrong. If you could have done this the later part of last week, I could have stood back with burrito and had some beers while we watch you try and get it in gear... (lmao...sorry man, I know you owe me a smak'n for that one). Anyhow, yeah your quote for 2g's seems pretty reasonable, but definately ask what brand of Torque converter (and stall speed) and valve body they are using. Unfortunately, all of the shops that I know and have dealt with are down in Stockton..otherwise I'd throw up some reccomendations..sorry. If you feel that they are jerk'n you around...gimme a call and I'll chat with them...we ain't gonna let them hustle a hustla Quote 2k6 Dodge Ram 2500...CUMMINS POWERED - SOLD
meade916
well you guys know me you know i always take pics......here she is going to the doctor for surgery... by the way, Kev, the stuff your saying is exactly what AAMCO was saying when they heard i got a $1450 quote. They basicly said, "ya they will probably rebuild it but what they will rebuild it with is a different story".........so ya i may have gotten hustled but if im going to pull 1000lbs of beat around on the daily i guess its better i have a good tranny with good parts. 2 grand is better then 3 grand i guess..... str86diesel
agree mang....and they do so many that at least you should get a decent warranty with it to. That way if something doesn't feel right, put it right back on their door step and make them fix it.
