Box Help?

Ok guys new to this forum but not i do know some stuff about car audio and a need some help with my sub box for my car (1991 chevy caprice)

Current set up:

-Pioneer DEH-1900MP

-stock bose speakers

-4 ga rockford power and ground (rca also)

-Crunch P1100.2 amp

-2 pioneer TWS307D2 12's

-sealed 3/4 inch MDF box sealed at 1.25 cubes

-Police alternator (higher output)

I am looking to get rid of my my sealed box and move to a ported box. i built my last box and i am looking to build a ported one but i have no idea where to start. so i need your guys help where should i start or how should to go about this. also i would be willing to maybe buy a box if anyone has a good suggestion.

download exposprts box tuning calculator. i rthink its stickied in the enclosure section or you can just search for it. its free and very easy to use it can and will be your best friend designing this box. remember to include sub and bracing displacement because this will effect your tuning. i would try and tune around 32-35 htz this seems to work pretty well and i have pretty flat response across all styles of music. good luck and remember. take your time and ask questions if you have any.

Use this website to figure out your port area: http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31

if tuning to 33hz, ur port area should be 17sq.in.(separate chamber), or 34sq.in. if doing a common chamber ported...

port area for slot ports is roughly based on 12-16 sq inches of port per cubic foot. my calculator also helps figure that. it shows you the lowest recommended area to the highest recommended area

That is very true, but that website helps you figure out min. port area according to a sub's xmax.
