mbaty1
hello all, As the title states, I am looking to get a 12" HX2 reconed that a buddy of mine has. Would anyone be able to point me in the direction of someone who assists with this service? Is there a general rule for how much it would cost? The sub itself looks to be in good shape.... surround, cone, spiders all look in tact, no burnt marks on the leads, and with the mesh screens that are attached, can't get a good view of the coil, but assuming that's where the problem is.... I'm trying to locate a power source to test the sub, as I am thinking, it may have been the second channels on the amp that blew and not the speaker itself. If anyone could`provide some advice/feedback/direction, it'd be truly appreciated!!

cqtama
I would look to by new subs...... Ken does great work though. why? those hx2's are some serious stuff, my first set up was one of those on about 500 watts. rockford doesnt have recones for them? i would contact them and if not i would talk to foreverbumpin about it R.I.P '01 blazer you treated my ears well until your transmission blew up. EricR
www.fixmyspeaker.com i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work? sactownstang
I don't think they do have recones but the punch were 3" however I think their baskets are a lil off standard. Power had the 4" coil so thats even more drama to findin a recone. Ya they were bad ass subs, back in 2002 I recall meade had hx2 power punch I had hx2 punch. Good stuff back in those days. I would choose a newer sub though.
