yea im thinkin that the 2000 watt bruttus is a lil overkill

so im thinkin in a HIFONICS BXi1606D 1600 watts rms

sound better?

Ya since the amp is overrated, it`ll do like 1200-1400

that amp will do almos if not the full 2000 rms AT 14.4 but drop that voltage and say buhbye to that power

i say get the 2000 brutus and keep the gain down.. better to have more power than not enough.. but i say that amp will be perfectly fine with that woofer.

is there something i'm not seeing here? i mean i know Fi's are some hardcore woofers but he could run that shit at 2x rated RMS with that amp... he could save a couple bucks and get something that does like 1200 RMS at 1 ohm and make it superclean power.

or am i wrong?

nope im running one right now and my amp was clamped at right around 1700 watts of clean power and it dosent get the slightest bit stinky

I had a 12" BL off a RF t3k And it took it like a champ

hit a 142 in a VW Jetta 4 door sedan

with a spv70 ,big 3, and optima red top up front...

BLs can take the power if it's clean and the box Is made correctly

alright then. verdict reached.

get good options on the subwoofer (you're paying good money already...) and get that BXI2010D. make your box is up to par, along with at least some sort of electrical upgrade... even at the least the big 3 helps a little...

not overkill....

hifonics is overrrated and doesnt do RMS. so the Fi will handle it.

and i know for a fact that it doesnt do rms, the hifonics 2600 class d cost 230-300 here brand new with warranty. you think a 2000 rms amp will cost 250? i think not.

so go for it.

EDIT: it was either for 250 or 350 dont remember.

BL will easily take 1.5-2kwrms of clean power... I was giving mine well over 1.5kwrms and they never got smelly ever. The suspension os good for it too... And mine was the older style loaded BL not the newer even more beastly BL, they are a seriously underrated woofer.
