dmanson Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 i didnt see any sparks tho so i dunno... im not disagreeing with you i just want to know why i didnt see sparks when i first started with audio systems i smoked a shit lot of fuses by not unhooking my negative on my battery or negative on the amp. i've seen guys try and hook the positive up reall quick and fuses pop. rule of thumb, either unhook the battery negative or the amp negative first and hook either or back up last. Amalan Posted November 5, 2007 Author Report Posted November 5, 2007 sorry for bring this up back from the dead but i kind of need help now. the guy wants his system installed soon but i cant figure out whats wrong with this amp. i took some pictures of the insides. i didnt see anything burnt if anyone needs bigger pictures pm me. bottom left bottom right top right top left i dont see anything unusual so im not sure whats wrong here. I dont know how anyone would blow a fuse by leaving the battery grounded. You WILL usually see a small spark but that is just the caps inside the amp sucking up juice when you first add power to it. Nothing to worry about. You will see the same spark if you hook the ground on the battery last... leaving that ground on didnt do any damage to the amp dont worry. You bench test that bad boy? lol well theyre powering 2 10in visoniks which i got at pepboys for 30 bucks for the pair so the amp is a perfect match. Quote
