Has each different HU you tried been different than a Pioneer? Pioneers are notorious for the engine whine...

the noise is present with the rcas unhooked from the cd player. I'm pretty sure it's not the deck.

God damn its hot today. My balls are stuck to my leg.

dont know where that last post came from. Anyway, it gets worse when rcas are near fuel pump under back seat. Tried running them up the a pillers through headliner then back down rear window pillar.

I had a slight whine occasionally some how it turn into horrible alternator noise... It got to the point where I tore all my interior out and meticulously laid the wires and RCAs out, also using my 360.1 I have 0 noise, none whatsoever.

i had this problem once. the speaker terminals in my doors were touching the metal on the doors. so this could be happening with you or if its a new noise and you didnt change anything then look at your speaker wires. maybe they are grounding out somewhere.

edit, an easy test here would be to hook up a spare set of speakers at the amp. unplug your door speakers, hook up the stock ones just sitting on the floor.

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.

i wish it were that simple. There are definitely no terminals touching. they are on wooden spacers where they cant touch. But I took them outto check just in case. this isn't a new noise. I have had a noise problem with this car since 2001. I just keep it loud enough not to care most times. I even checked to see if the amp was touching metal from mounting screws. I read something similar on a termlab forum post where a guy with a 95 civic had the same problem. Never saw a solution. It must be the g*ddamned extraterrestrials again. Shit.

i cut them and ran new ones. Wires are only 6-7 feet long and laying over the carpet tucked behind the edge of the door panel. there is no way anything is touching.
