HHR Ed Posted July 19, 2010 Report Share Posted July 19, 2010 hey ed quick question when you mounted the amps to the ceiling you had mdf there already? how did you get that mdf to be supported by the roof? i want to mount my amps in the ceiling of my s10 to save room and i just cant figure it out Ceiling was bare when I started, just some deadener. So I screwed in some 2x4s to the metal bracing that is already on the Ceiling. Then I mounted my MDF to the 2x4s and on the sides also screwed the MDF to metal supports on the ceiling. Then I made MDF trays for the amps which I glued and screwed to the 1st sheet, and drove screws through to the 2x4s as well. Then I screwed in the amps with screws that went though both layers of MDF. I also filled the void with foam. We will do a numbers build next. A man after my own heart,it should never be for the numbers.Having fun is alot better then trying to get a number.None of my installs were for the numbers.
