Over-powering Subs

Recommended Posts

I have (2) T215D2 15" subs that are rated at 1000W RMS. They are powered by (1) T1500-1bd @ 2Ohms putting out right under 1500watts as per the birth sheet. Is this too much power for these subs? Will it be all up to me to watch the volume control to keep them from smokin'

I feed my $200 18" blaupunkt twice the RMS it is rated for (3000 instead of 1500) and it only gets a bit warm. so I'm sure they should handle it.

And it's in a 8cube box so it doesn't exactly have its excursion controlled. As long as you have clean power it'll be fine.

umm are we talking rockford t2's? if so thats not overpowered.

they are 1000 rms each and your only giving them 1500.

1000+1000=2000

you would actually be sadfe giving them a little more

R.I.P '01 blazer you treated my ears well until your transmission blew up.

My subs are rated at 1500rms and I am giving them 2000rms each and they laugh at the power. DC FTW :woot:

mine too haha

to the OP, 500 watts extra really isn't bad, just pay attention to them and make sure they don't start smelling....
