bullet4mv92
I currently have 2 12's on about 1,600 watts in my honda fit, and it dims my headlights and the lights in my car when it hits. I'm upgrading to one 18" and roughly 3,300 watts. Will my car be able to handle that? Or will I need to get a battery? If so, what kind of battery should I get? And i'm barely able to afford the setup as it is, so I won't get the money for a battery for a while, so will I be able to still bump the 18" for a while without a battery, or can I not risk that? Team_DC-Derrick
I had 3,000 rms before and at full tilt I would drop to 11s with 2 extra hc2400s in the back and all 1/0 gauge wire with big 3 in my integra... I wouldn't try it... a new alt would really fit ur needs but extra batts would put a bandaid on it The DC Integra 3 18s to 6 15 build log Team_DC-Derrick's Youtube Team DC Audio where theres a will theres a wall....... UR stock electrical system definately wont handel this. Id do the big 3 first cuz it the cheapest. I'd get multiple batteries, at least three, if you only have a stock alternator. You just cant blast it for long times at a time with the stock alt. For a battery, I'd look into XS Power or kinetik. XS Power has a Class 31 battery called the D3100. Heres the link: http://mechman.com/store/product_info.php/cPath/1/products_id/31 Id get at least two of these, preferable three. The alternator is one of the most important youre mussing On 5/8/2011 at 7:38 PM, Kranny said: On 5/8/2011 at 7:35 PM, 'Maxim' said: It hurts me inside when I read stuff like this and remember you're 15 LMFAO so true Mitsubishi 3000GT (Old Build) Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: (2) McLaren Audio MLT-2 Tweeters & (4) PRV Audio MR Series Neo 6.5" Mids Substage: 4 15" Hybrid Subs - Tantric Motors & Sundown Softies Amps: Banda 2.4D Amp (Tweets), American Bass VFL 350.4 (Mids), and (2) Ampere 3800s Electrical :Singer 260A Alt & JY Power Lithium 2005 Chevy Colorado Ext Cab Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: 4 PRV 700Ti Tweets & 6 10" Delta Mids on 3000wrms Substage: 6 Fi BTL 18s in a 4th Order Walkthrough on 3 Wolfram 4500s Electrical: Singer "390" and JY Power My Official Feedback Thread

melonhead
Yeah it definitely won't handle it. I have a Honda Civic which has a stock 70 amp alternator. I've got a Optima yellow top under the hood with the big 3 done. I'm only running at 1,000 watts and my lights still dim a little.
