The box peak is overcoming the vehicle peak at this point. I plan to do dampening all over -- I read over Terry Brock's log and he did it everywhere and is the loudest CRX in North America as far as I know If the frequency changes I will build the final box accordingly. IMO the problem when folks lose SPL is the frequency changes on them -- in my Jeep it actually rose 3 Hz. sundownz
I didn't really intend to call you out or anything. My comment was pretty much an admitted broad stroke. I guess if you're happy with it, that's what matters. Personally, I like my vehicles to look decent. For an install that is intended to be permanent I would agree. When I was doing SPL on a regular basis in my Jeep, for example, it was lucky to have the same setup for 5 days at a time. Making it all pretty would be alot of work for nothing. Folks that are serious about SPL changes things constantly so it needs to be easy to get in and out and to move things (eg: don't cut the cables too short). This crx are unpredictable sometimes and your right about the frequency changes . . . but you'll overcome everything in the long run, you just have to know your crx very well. Example : Same spl box I took out from my crx burping it at 61 hertz and moved it to one of my teammates crx, frequency totally dropped to 53 hertz. We both run the same amp (2) saz3kd's . . . . only difference is he does run his system @ 12v whereas mine is @ 16v. Quote TEAM S.S.C.
