2008 Car Sputters on start up

heres the situation, my 2008 Ford Focus sometimes takes a couple seconds to start up, SOMETIMES being the main thing. I dont think its the alt, cuz then it would start then not wanna keep driving (which it doesnt do), So I think its the battery or the starter. Or am I looking too far into this?

Put a dmm to the battery and see what its' resting voltage is at!

Idk what would be wrong with your car but word of advice trade it in....now! My mom has an 08 focus and its a piece. A small rock flew up under the car when i was driving and tripped the air-bags. my friends the wrong airbag went off when he got into a wreck and they are p.o.s.'. I had that problem with my car (older buick) sheck to see if anything is pinched and shorting out. I pinched a wire for my third brake light and it caused all kinds of hell for me.

If it's an 08 it most likely still has warranty, yeah? Take it to the dealer.

I may be way off but did you leave the car sit for awhile with low gas? My durango did that and I put a little dry gas in there and when it cycled through problem fixed. Try the simple things first, It's relatively cheap to get some and chances are someone you know has some layin around.
