sully Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 So I decided to put on a weld in roll pan in december and ordered it. Long story short it has been sitting at by buddies body shop since before christmas. He cut me a great deal on a full new paint job so I couldn't pass it up. It is going to be cream with a white pearl on top and the factory pewter on bottom. He is going to break it up with a darker tan stripe outlined in graphite, I'm excited but this does mean that I have to lower it and get some 26's ASAP so I'm not rollin on fresh paint and no shoes. He also threw in a Chevy HD hood, should be done middle of next week but here are some teaser pics: roll pan getting installed: Taken apart to fix all the little door dings and scratches: The underneath of the hood painted the cream color that he custom mixed for me: You can't really see the pearl in the paint cause it is cloudy here today, I will get some better pics of it in the sun when I get back down there. While he was working on the roll pan I got bored and decided to get some ink done to pass the time, for all the Cavalry Scouts out there here is my newest tattoo. Can't wait to see this project finished. Gonna try to stop by tonight just before they close and get a few more pics if I can get into the paint booth. sully Posted May 4, 2010 Author Report Posted May 4, 2010 my girl had a little fender bender in it a while back and with what her insurance paid to fix the dent and put a new rear bumper on it I'm only going to be out the cost of the roll pan and hidden hitch. A good friend of mine owns the shop so he hooked me up. When we first talked about doing this he was only going to charge me $2500 parts and labor anyway and the insurance paid $2200 and change. He ended up throwing in a HD hood he got a deal on so I paid for the roll pan. Can't beat having connections. The only thing I'm not sure I'm going to like is he isn't painting the door jams right now so I don't know if that is going to bug me till I see it with the doors open.
