TLEJ
Iv'e got 2 15's. 1000 RMS 2000 MAX. x2 (2000 RMS 4000 MAX) Now what if an amp is 2500 max? Like what kinda amp do I need to power these? What would blow them?
hdorre
If the amp is 2500 watts MAX, it would barely move the subs. You should expect about 1200 watts rms. The type of amp you need depends on the voice coil configuration. It needs atleast 2000 watts at your impedence On 5/8/2011 at 7:38 PM, Kranny said: On 5/8/2011 at 7:35 PM, 'Maxim' said: It hurts me inside when I read stuff like this and remember you're 15 LMFAO so true Mitsubishi 3000GT (Old Build) Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: (2) McLaren Audio MLT-2 Tweeters & (4) PRV Audio MR Series Neo 6.5" Mids Substage: 4 15" Hybrid Subs - Tantric Motors & Sundown Softies Amps: Banda 2.4D Amp (Tweets), American Bass VFL 350.4 (Mids), and (2) Ampere 3800s Electrical :Singer 260A Alt & JY Power Lithium 2005 Chevy Colorado Ext Cab Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: 4 PRV 700Ti Tweets & 6 10" Delta Mids on 3000wrms Substage: 6 Fi BTL 18s in a 4th Order Walkthrough on 3 Wolfram 4500s Electrical: Singer "390" and JY Power My Official Feedback Thread
WaTTz305
depending what ohm load the subs are. if you have 2 dual 4's then look for an amps the does around 2000 or a bit more at 1 ohm. if they are dual 2's look for an amp that will do 2000 or a bit more at 2 ohms OR look for an amp that will do 2000 or a bit more at .5 ohms. some subs are stronger than others so theres no way to tell what would blow them without knowing what subs they are. because some subs wont blow with the double the RMS on them. and some subs will blow under the RMS rating. Team_DC-Derrick
when dealing with amps, you dont deal with MAX ratings.. ever... you have been told that before. Get a 2000 rms amp, RMS not MAX ratings The DC Integra 3 18s to 6 15 build log Team_DC-Derrick's Youtube Team DC Audio where theres a will theres a wall....... I just realized Steve has reach Voldemort status, over on JP's site he is the one who will not be named....."We dont speak his name over here, fearing it will destroy us" LOL not even in hush tones
TLEJ
I know I've been told that, but I'm trying to sell these: http://www.overstock.com/Electronics/Lanzar-Vibe-15-inch-4-Ohm-2000-watt-Subwoofer/2934049/product.html And the guy says he has a MTX 2500 watt amp max.. so Idk? He wants to know if it will blow them
