ISO Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 Now i have never dealt with dc or ia dubs, so i'm not going to give you any opinions on those subs. There are plenty of people here on the bandwagon, and the bashwagon. I like you, will you be my friend. LOL Isobaric - Refers to the practice of coupling two drivers together to make them act as one. kirill007 Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 If your stuck on a single sub set up, then go with a 2500 series from DD. the are rated at 750rms. The 1500 series will work on that power, But the 2500's will work better. Now for a dual sub set up. You could go with a pair of 500's or 1000 series. And before anyone chimes in with there bs of that wont work, yes it will I am a DD dealer. I know these subs. Yes the 2500 series will handle around 1400 per sub, they get plenty loud off 750. Now i have never dealt with dc or ia dubs, so i'm not going to give you any opinions on those subs. There are plenty of people here on the bandwagon, and the bashwagon. This is funny, you're not on a bandwagon, but the only kind of woofer you reconmend are DD's... if uve never heard one then y are u judgeing the way it sounds by how "cheap" it looks...ive heard the 1500 series before and their pretty fucking amazing in SQ and output for wut they are For what they are... doesn't necessarely means it's better than a Fi Q. But i don't think it would matter in his install what kind of sub he chooses, it depends most on the box, and not the sub.(85%install, 15%equipment) Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
loburbon Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 Well its true. i don't need to hype up or down a sub that i haven't used. I have friends who have them, but that doesn't give me experience with them. 2000 gmc yukon 4 sundown Zv3 15's 4 dd m2a's kenwood kdc-x994 2 batcap 4000's 1 batcap 2000 dual alts. 154@37hz and climbing http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3231683 http://www.myspace.com/torque150

ISO Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 Did you get one of the RF Power 1000's? An amp I would be proud to own. A&W ROOTBEER Posted May 9, 2010 Author Report Posted May 9, 2010 let me ask you guys something, here are the specs on my amp Hifonics Zeus ZXi60.4 + 1K # 4 ohms: 60 watts x 4 chan. + 475 watts x 1 chan. # 2 ohms: 120 watts x 4 chan. + 750 watts x 1 chan. # 1 ohm Mono: 1000 watts x 1 chan. (5th Channel Only) now im gona run my components on 4ohms, and i was originally gona run the sub at 2ohms to get 750 watts..but cant i just run the sub on 1ohm and get the 1000 watt? i dont have any experience with 5 channel amps this is my first time..so if i can run it on 1ohm this will solve my power issues with some of the subs out there that were mentioned..
Skullz Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 Just run it the way your talking about now and save and get a new pair of amps with more power dedicated to run the stage and subs. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
ISO Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 If the Hifonics is any bit of a respectable amp then you should beable to look at it the same way you would look at 2 2 channel amps and a seperate mono amp or one 4 channel and a seperate mono amp. If the 3 amps inside its casing rely on each other then its an amp that is not worth touching as it would be a very weakly designed product. A&W ROOTBEER Posted May 9, 2010 Author Report Posted May 9, 2010 you guys be the judge 1 thing i dont like about the amp is it doesnt accept 0 gauge wiring..the biggest it can accept is 4 gauge
ISO Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 My post was in general and doesn't have any thing to do with a particular company. It doesn't sound like a bad amp but he didn't get into the power supply or if it had dedicated circuit boards for the 4 channel Class A/B section and the Class D sub section. Over all it should be alright. Isobaric - Refers to the practice of coupling two drivers together to make them act as one.
