He probably does, but a big change to box volume and port area would be needed to change that. Not a simple adjustment to volume by switching woofer mounting. Its just not enough of a difference.

I never said that would fix his problem, I was just thinking out loud, that maybe next time Im bored to invert a buddys sub and clamp it again and see what happens.

The biggest change I have ever seen in testing inverted vs regular was maybe 15w.

Its something to do just to maximize every tenth of a dB so its good thinking and would be good to test.

I am just under the assumption he was expecting about 3 dB more out of his setup.

If your in a street class and you invert the subs causing them to be above the seat line would that put you in modified class? Or is it only determined on the box itself?

It would change your class.

Its the box and anything attached to the box. Like a woofer or even an amp screwed to the box.

His box looks like it would be right at the seat line right now.. I would assume OP would want to remain in the same classification. I have not personalty competed that long jut one year but 3db is a huge jump in my opinion. And to get that 3db it might sound like ass daily.

Then again he is tuned pretty low if his peak is at 36hz.
