Ernesto
I currently have a train horn but im going to give it to my dad to upgrade to a louder one. Then one im going to get comes with a 12gallon tank I really don't know that much about bagging a car as I do with train horns but in the future if I wanted to bag my car could I use the 12gallon tank to bag my car and blow the train horn as well? meade916
5 gallon is sorta small for a big truck...youll be listenin to the compressor humming all day long as soon as you hit a switch. Id go minimum 10 gallons......12 will do but most big suv's ive seen use a pair of 7's and a fat compressor. A 5 gallon and small compressor will be pushing it...unless you plan on hitting one switch and thats it you'll be waiting a while for it to fill back up. Big P
If you have a good semi truck reserve tank with a max psi of 150 or above. you should be ok. If you have a cheap tank then no. A air ride system holds 145 to 200 psi. even more if you like to hop. A cheap train horn tank max psi is below 100 psi. Train horns use a lot of air as well. You should be ok as long as you dont lay out and then use the horn till all your airs all gone. Then your not going to have any air to get back up with :V
syclonekid43
12 gal is more than enough air. im running a 12 gal tank with an engine driven comp. i run 200-250 in there all the time. more than enough play time for bags. most brand name tanmks are under rated for psi. they tell you 150 so there on the safe side. i was told what they can handle , but forgot what the numbers were Edited April 2, 2007 by syclonekid43
NomaOnAir
You could run a 5 gallon without a problem . Granted you wont have alot of "air at spare" but it will be just fine for what you wanna do . If you run like a re7 it will take liek a minimum of 60psi to get the front up ( going off a s10 w/ 4.3 etc) I would run a viair 450 or 460 something with 100% duty cycle. I know a ton of ppl who only run 5 gallons an its plenty of air , with SOME play time but of course a 12 gallon would be more play time . If you want alot of play time run your 5 gallon as a expansion chamber an run nitrogen . Ed Edited April 6, 2007 by NomaOnAir
BAGGEDBIRDS.com
if you use the same tank for the horn and the suspension. put check valves in the supply lines to the valves from the tank. SMC (if you use those, not sure about others) will bleed back to the tank if the pressure differential is great enough between the bags and the tank. to test it, lift the truck up and then let the air out of the tank and see if they bleed back, when the tank is just about empty is when the will bleed back and make a funny sounds.
