devil4u2c
nope too much fuse + surge = smoked amp edit: im not exactly sure why surge happens, but if your electrical system has more juice to give than your amp can take and it is over fuses then bad things can happen. Tek
i thought 200amp was fine because i posted a thread asking what size fuse and everyone said 200 or 150. didnt think it would fry the amp?? if its fried doesnt that mean it wouldnt turn on? cuz the lights still on its just in protect that would generally be a good sized fuse for the Big 3 Upgrade. I probably would have went with 150 if I was you. With fuses, it's ALWAYS better to go too small than too big.

People do. they was another issue with your amp not the fuse. nope too much fuse + surge = smoked amp Please explain. I can't wait to hear this theory Designing, building, and shipping boxes. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.
chapo123
but how if it was working fine?? this is the worst part of car audio. when shit fucks up and you dont know what it is. if it did mess up i gotta start saving up for a new one ahh. i just bought a new guitar too. still got payments on that bish! Steve I don't know why but everytime I see your new paint I want a Dr. Pepper...... is this normal? heres an analogy for you. running a high power stereo without a fuse is like having unprotected sex with that hot chick at the bar with the sketchy sexual history. Sure you may be fine and nothing happens but that one time something does happen you're fucked. i dont want woofer broke like bass sound clip clip and voice coil overheat 2 sa12s, saz1500 build log http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/91183-chapo123s-sundown-build-log/page__gopid__1250604entry1250604

devil4u2c
have you tried putting the 60 amps back in to see if that keeps it from going into protect mode?

chapo123
it could last for ever if i wanted it too. but it would blow under huge loads. thus needing bigger fuse. my brothers t1000.1bd need a 150amp! soo.. thats why i thought 200amp for my 2000watt amp lol. even then i thought 200 was to small thus thinking the fuse popped i was surprised it didnt and that the amp was in protect. and it wasnt even hot to the touch or anything Steve I don't know why but everytime I see your new paint I want a Dr. Pepper...... is this normal? heres an analogy for you. running a high power stereo without a fuse is like having unprotected sex with that hot chick at the bar with the sketchy sexual history.
