Bobby32
How do I stop my subs from having a loud pop/slap whenever they hit a low note with quite a bit of excursion? I'm not over powering them, the only time I have this problem is when its cranked and on a low note. I'm thinking about raising my subsonic filter, but will this completely cut out the notes? kirill007
Yes, raise the subsonic. And what are the specs on you're box? Quote Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
EricR
The reason it is bottoming out is because the note you are trying to play is below your tuning therefor they are unloading. What I do is play a test tone that is 1-2 hz below your tuning and then set the SSF accordingly. Quote i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work? I think you got jipped. 35hZ tuning in a box for just burps is unrealistic with that equipment. Just set your SSF to ~30-32hZ and you should be fine depending on the signal you're throwing at it.
