snafu Posted April 10, 2015 Report Posted April 10, 2015 I worked with Mark at Rockford from 2002-2006. I had dinner with Mark and his wife a few weeks back. I also inquired about the Blazer as the last time I had seen it, it was parked in the corner of RTTI. It's tucked away safely in storage awaiting a day that he can restore it to its full glory. A few years back, the guy that owns the company Mark works for, bought the van he built that was featured in Auto Sound & Securty Magazine (BITD!) for him as a birthday present! [How cool is that?] He's been working on restoring it in his spare time, but needs IX series RF amplifiers to replace the originals as the capacitors leaked internally and damaged the boards. He's also looking for original RF Symmetry parts (cards, etc) as that was the processor he designed the system around. When I began the installation of the system in my Mustang (still together!) while working for Rockford, Mark helped me choose the best locations for the tweeters and spent some time fine tuning my equalization in the car after the system was done. Afterwards, I listened to the system that way for about a year and really enjoyed it. In 2007 or so, the OEM department (at Rockford) expressed interest in analyzing the Mustang with their 6 microphone array - the same stuff they used in Nissan and Mitsubishi vehicles to voice the systems in them. I turned over the keys and they fine tuned the tune Mark and I had developed. They remarked, "Nobody has ever given us a vehicle that sounded that good before we started tuning - not by a long shot. We made VERY few changes and all of them minimal. WHO tuned this car? It's among the very best we've ever heard!" I still enjoy this tune to this very day. Few cars have ever pleased my ears more.
