Alrighty. I'm installing a a Fi SSD 15" off an AudioPipe 15001D in the back of my friend's Crown Vic and I'm currently at the point where I'm getting the Big 3 done. I popped his hood to look at what I'm dealing with and I spy a little device called a "Battery Buddy" hooked up to his battery. I did a little research on it and from what I can tell it's designed to cut off the circuit if the battery's voltage drops below a certain point. Now this is a great device, but it's also a fucking huge pain in the ass. I have no idea how to wire this bitch up. He has the Police Interceptor model, so I can understand why it would have this built in.

I'm about 2 seconds from saying "fuck it" and ripping the god damned thing out. It's a 1995 and a lot of the wires are fucked up bad. Bare ground wires, oxidized battery terminals, just a mess. I'm hoping someone here has dealt with a "Battery Buddy" or "Battery Brain" before and knows how to wire it up. I didn't have a chance to grab any pics of it. Next time I work on it I'll snap some.

wtf is lolcats?

I'd def get a fat hooker if i had to resort to that kinda thing. I feel like they'd be grateful and work harder. Also its more bang for my buck, more real estate for my dollar if you catch my drift. its like the Costco of streetwalkers.

I was hoping for 150 :(.

I was hoping she would let me put it in her butt

Nobody has any clue? I kinda guessed that was gonna be the case, but figured I'd ask anyway. Kinda a shot in the dark. I'm seriously considering pulling the thing out. I know he'll wanna keep it for some stupid reason but it's honestly a major pain in the ass.

not totaly sure what the unit looks like but i know they have them aftermarket. im crazy and would jump off the end and pull the fugger. get it all back OG with a normal batt setup without the batt buddy. just my opinion though mang

AHA! I dug around a little more on the interwebz and discovered some goodies. I wish I had pics of the rats nest of wiring under his hood. However, I did grab these pics offline if anyone is interested by this.

The one in his car is yellow (the one in the picture is for boats, his is for cars) and has an actual battery post instead of just the screw for ring terminals. I plan on taking the thing out, but if he is insistent on keeping it, then I'll put the battery terminal on this instead of on the battery and just wire the amp off that. It'll take me a minute to figure out how to do it properly, but I'll make sure to take pictures next time I look under his hood.

HAHA! It's such a small install I figured it'd just be a walk in the park. It's the Interceptor model too so it's already got holes drilled all over the firewall for wires. I was all set for it and then he popped the hood and I was like "WTF is that thing?" and then I was back at square 1 as to how I was gonna wire it. I was hoping someone on here had encountered one back in the 90's when people actually used them and knew hoe to use it.

Here's my 3 options:

1) Pull the thing and wire everything the normal way

2) Keep it in there and wire them amp off of the battery like normal

3) Keep it in there and wire the amp off of this instead of the battery

I'm 99% sure I'l be doing #1 or #2 because the wire from the battery to this is 4 gauge and unless I can put some 1/0 on it instead I don't want to deal with it.

its probely just like on my pontiac where if you have the car on for a bit then the car will just turn off the battery when it gets too low. just wire it to the battery..

That's why they don't deliver.

Yer ass better go sit along the side of the road and wait.

You can't expect them to travel up some dirt road in a hick / back woods town. Thats how horror movies start :D

I explain things very simply and use analogies in terms of Pickles, and grape drink, pool noodles and jackhammers...if you can't put 2 and 2 together there man, There simply is not much more I can do.
