Do I need a HO Alt?

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering if I need a HO alt....I am only going to be running about 1600 rms (one sub amp). My stock alt is about 105-110 amps (2004 Honda Accord). I am going to be running the Crescendo Audio 3KW.

*I will be installing a XS Power D5100 and the Big 3.

Thanks!

Depending on how power hungry your amp is you probably should get a better alternator.

You should be alright for a little while but I wouldn't bump at idle for sure.

Some people could care less about who the genius is that is making the product... They just want to get it cheap and say "derrrr, look at teh pretty lights in muh dash!"

Because audio is a lifestyle not a hobby.

Things that I am allergic too....

with 3k on a 110amp alt, i would get one, i wouldent feel safe doing it on my 135amp alt lol youll have hell of a voltage drop

Legal TL scores145.6 on the dash sealed up in the low 40hz area with the port out145.5 on the dash sealed up @30hz with the port inless then 1k clamped on a 3.5k!

Why would you EVER WANT flex?
huh?...flex is what can make the lows lower and more air being pushed correct?

If you plan on going bigger.... I'd go ahead and get one, I'd get one but I don't have the money, and Seems to me when people post this they want to get stuff... but they just need people to back them up on it... It won't hurt that's for sure...

 <- I'm doing this right now....

SPL: 143.7 Sealed | 153.4 Port Wars

Would be highly advised to do it, just to save you stock electrical, cause that's a fairly beefy battery too

take baby steps, u cant do it all at once unless u have a roll of 100's big enough to choke a donkey

Yeah once again these people will tell you to go crazy and max the hell out everything which is nice, but not economically smart.

For 1500 rms, don't even bother with anything.

For 3000 Rms, just a 150A+ alt and a battery with solid aH (100 +)
