Yes... "Blownest" may not be a word... but I think it needs to be after seeing this woofer.

I do not know who this belonged to exactly but Nick @ SI is re-coning it at my shop today so we thoroughly documented the carnage. Just had to share.

CIMG3842.JPG

* Thats not so bad, right ?

CIMG3844.JPG

* Well... that isn't normal.

CIMG3846.JPG

CIMG3847.JPG

* Back of the surround should be gray.

CIMG3849.JPG

* Melted material and discoloration on the pole.

CIMG3850.JPG

* Wow.

CIMG3852.JPG

* Kapton wrap of the former is melted and puddled up on top of the triple joint.

CIMG3853.JPG

* That used to be a plastic former cap from under the dust cap.

CIMG3854.JPG

* The solder actually re-melted...

CIMG3856.JPG

CIMG3857.JPG

* Some of the solder formerly from the connection point

CIMG3858.JPG

* That should be black.

CIMG3859.JPG

CIMG3864.JPG

* Insider of spider was burnt out.

CIMG3870.JPG

* Motor has been "anodized" with the burnt material.

my question is how was it able to last that long to get that hot... normally from what ive seen, the coil just unravels and it moves no more... and by then the amp is in protect... unless they wall socketed it and kept flipping the breaker on...

Wall socket won't do that - I've tried it numerous times, haha.

We don't really know for sure... but it happened in a car hooked to an amp.

Tell them to turn down they gainz :lol:

wtf is lolcats?

I'd def get a fat hooker if i had to resort to that kinda thing. I feel like they'd be grateful and work harder. Also its more bang for my buck, more real estate for my dollar if you catch my drift. its like the Costco of streetwalkers.

I was hoping for 150 :(.

I was hoping she would let me put it in her butt
