Stopping Hatch Window Rattle

All the deadening I did before hand seems to have done a pretty good job so far, besides maybe the roof. But the back hatch window or back glass of my Explorer Sport has a very noticeable rattle from the inside and outside of the vehicle. It also is mostly on the lower right hand side if your out of the car.

What would you do to stop it?

Take it out and replace it with wood thats covered in deadener on one side... Thats what i would do...just stain & paint the wood black. If you do it right it will look just like a window with really dark tint on it.

i had this happen, i just siliconed the window shut

When your doing the silicone can you do it from the outside? Or inside?

Because it looks like the gasket, to stop water, comes first, then the window, when looking from the outside. When inside the car it looks like their is metal, gasket, glass, then a weather strip on the corners.

Have the same problem my hatch is messed up on my blazer from my stereo and won't seal properly, but its on the bottom left not the right.

there are 2 ways, my way wich is open the window and silicone it then shut the window to seal it shut forever

or you can open the window and slowly build a large bead up one layer it a time till its about 1/2 inch tall then wait for it to dry and close the window so you can open it in the future

Kind of like using the silicone as a padding? I will probably try option 2 then 1 later.

try this...

i put that in between my glass and the weather stripping and it sealed it up pretty good, then alittle electrical tape around the metal piece on the window that latches so it tight when u close it.

BeatBox when I showed my granddad what I was talking about he pulled some of that out his work van. Trying it as we speak.
