r3dd09
I use to test and review headphones. Just keep it simple and get some candys. unless somehow you can find some insane deal after looking for a few hours online. it's not worth it. Just go with candys. BJD3
Honestly, if you're looking for earbuds and not headphones, I'd avoid skullcandy. Some of their earbuds are passable, but I haven't tried and liked ANY of their headphones. Edited July 13, 2010 by BJD3 Quote Anti Peel and Seal...lol You may be offended by the above. To be completely honest, I personally can't fault them for durability. I've never had mine break. Its just you can spend so much less money and get so much more. Save for one set (the Ink'd which is the lowest ear bud they carry) they either had absolutely no response below 80hz, or they were murky. They gave that same sound when you cut the treble all the way down on a deck. They just weren't a good experience for me. I still say PortaPros for the sub-$40 range. They're a tad dark, but I really like them. They are also an open head phone (a must for me since I use them while walking around campus) so you can't really block sound out. If you're looking for something you can put on and "get away," PortaPros aren't for you. I think Sennheiser makes the CX-40 as a competitor, and reviews say its pretty much a toss up between the two. The Sennheiser's aren't dark like the portapros. Sportapros have a cooler design, and IIRC, they are cheaper, but even though they use the same driver as the Protapros, supposedly they don't sound as good. If you're looking for a much better response on headphones, go on Head-Fi.org. Great site. Very informative. That's the site that convinced me to buy my 'Pros.
