Quality Amplifier Brands ?

Recommended Posts

Off the top of my head, the only ones I can think of are RF, Stetsom, Sundown, Crescendo, Cactus Sounds, Kicker, Audioque, Alpine and DD. Audiopipe and Maxxsonics' brands as well depending upon who you ask.

But there has to be more out there. Anyone want to name drop a few brands to look into? For the time being, I'm content with the amp I have, but still I'd like to know more about what brands to look into when planning upgrades/replacement/replacement (since my amp is discontinued).

List:

Alpine

Audioque

Cactus Sounds

Crescendo

Digital Designs

Kicker

Rockford Fosgate

Stetsom

Sundown

You may be offended by the above. Don't take it personally, I'm just abrasive.

i think everyones definition of quality will taint the list one way or another

myself i like some super high end stuff, but alot of people here either havent heard of it or will think pricing is rediculous

in closing i'll leave you with one word

Soundigital

Incriminator Audio

Treo

American Bass

US Amps (mostly older stuff)

Zapco

i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?

Amplifers that will do at least rated and you can buy knowing it won't crap out on you in a year or two if you treat it right?

I was kinda hoping I'd get more out of you than that.

For that reason.

any amplifier on the market can fall into that criteria if used properly

This has the potential to come off sounding extremely asshole-ish, but I don't mean it that way.

How would you define it then?

quality amps are the following to me.

well engineered- meaning not a amp you call x build house and tell them i want this this and this and get it in the mail 2 months later with all your logos and ect on them.

noise floor - how much noise does the amp have just from the circuitry of how that amp works.

i'll throw a few other nice amps out there

Helix espirit

Audison LRX and VRX

Zapco ck series

Arc SE series

Tru Technologies

Sinfoni

DLS Ultimates

lots more out there you just have to step away from whats popular here and read up alot and get some listening in.

theres lots more in criteria but thats just a little of what i like to look at.
