I assume u have burnt the leads on ur other sub to? How are u setting ur gains? Sure ur subs will handle ur 3000d.. But if u don't send ur gains correctly u can damage any sub, even if it's an amp that pairs nicely with your subs. In any event im sure Rusty will have a solution for you. Quote Team S.S.C. meade916
you guys are silly.....you dont just solder those together and call it done. It will just break again.....they are flexible for a reason. That tinsel needs to be replaced. You dont need a recone. You need to pull the dustcap off very carefully, get a new lead (have rusty send you one), solder it to the terminal, pull it up thru the holes the old ones used to pass thru the cone and under the cap. Very carefully break the CA glue that the leads are embedded into (under the cap) until you get to so me raw, clean solder. Cut the old one off and solder the new one on. Embedd it in some CA glue like it was originally. Glue the cap back on. Your done! Now adjust your amp or whatever it was that caused that to happen so you dont have this problem again. meade916
oh sorry, my tutorial didnt include what to do about the sewn in part......ummmmm, i have never ever broke a tinsel since MOST REPUTABLE manufacturer's started going with the sewn in setup. Doing that solved 99.9999% of the issues that even my beloved BTL's suffered from. So you might just end up leaving it oldschool style to get you back on the road again (unless you wanna stitch it in somehow) Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel!
