hdorre
OP, sorry for the thread jack but about how much port area is too much, or does it depend on the vehicle? Davidd92
So here is a box design I came up with using the torres calculator someone let me know if it will be good and not blow up and what not. box: Height 14.5" width 30" depth 18" 3common walls port: height 13" width 3" length 34" comes out to 2.4cuft at 32hz after sub and port displacement and has 16.18sqin of port area per foot. Would this be a good box?

wL<3bass
Port shape is off. 34" port won't fit when it's only 18" deep That why you can bend the port lol... I run 20sqinch or port per cuft for my BL... Too much port area for the wrong sub can hurt performance... but the BL and BTL do well with alot of port area. Davidd92
Port shape is off. 34" port won't fit when it's only 18" deep well it says the port bends. Does that mean its an L shaped port that measures out 34"?
Robert8252
Actually to help me a newb learn. I understand L ports and what not but isn't it better to have a straight port or am I wrong? And could you just make two slot ports instead to shorten it's length on both? edit: I'm just paying someone to design my box.
