He wants to get 2-12's in a custom ported box and maybe a Hifonics BXI1610D amp, any input? Current Setup: Sony CDX-7401UI 2- 12" Alpine TypeR DVC2ohm Subs Custom ported box 4-American Bass 6.5in SQ-6B Mids 4-Pioneer TS-T15 Tweeters 2-Crunch P1500.1 Mono Amps 2-runs 1/0 GA KnuKonceptz KnuKonceptz RCA's 1-Stinger SPV44 Battery Coming soon: 250 Amp Alt Custom Door Panels Second Skin Sound Deadner All in my 1986 Monte Carlo SS!!! Yeah I read the specs on the new ones and they are rated higher than the old ones by 100watts rms! So will he be able to use the Hifonics BXI1610D on them is what I really want to know? Its rated at 1600watts at 1ohm give or take some wattage for a Hifonics!! Realistically that amp is pushing 1200 wrms Not trying to bash Hifonics, considering there newer amps are pretty nice .. But their older stuff is weak .. Havent owned a newer Hifonics, but my buddy pushes 2 15" P3s and it Slams them 2006 Saab 9-3 2.0T Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
korey_hofer Posted August 27, 2010 Report Share Posted August 27, 2010 I only have experience with the older ones but I was running a 2500 to them in a horn and a z1 to them sealed and they are still perfect 2 10's previously known as wenn_du_weinst aka fucking internet coward supreme.
